The other morning I sprang out of bed and immediatly hopped in the shower. A few minutes later when I got out, I couldn't find Gordon! Usually he's snuggled up in our bed, but this morning he wasn't! I checked all his usual places-- the sofa, his bed in my office... even his kennel! Nothing.
Finally I noticed some movement in between our bed and the wall... where many of the covers had fallen as I sprang from bed:
Yep-- Gordon had found a comfy spot!
Wouldn't it be nice to lounge around all day? Imagine if you main concern was, "how many times should I turn around in a circle before I plop down and relax?". Ah Gordon, you have a nice life!!

First Mate Gordon
My parents recently took Gordon to the boat.
Gordon doesn't love the boat. I'm guessing that he senses he's not on solid ground. He does, however, love the ride to down the pier:
(The good news: I've figured out that the photos from my mom's camera are the ones that I can't seem to turn in the right direction. The bad news: I still can't seem to turn them in the right direction!)
Gordon loves the ride in the dolly so much, that my dad gives him special tours of the marina:
Gordon never likes to be left alone, but especially hates to be left alone at the boat. And he has no problem letting you know:
Poor Gordon!
But don't worry, my dad can't get half way down the dock without turning back for his little buddy:

Pillow Stealer
When Chris and I first got married, Chris begrudgingly allowed Gordon (who I brought into the marriage) to sleep in the bed with us.
My dog, loves to sleep.
At first, Gordon stayed near the foot of the bed. Then, we noticed that he's been creeping up towards our heads. More recently he gets right between us and puts his head parallel with ours-- as though he wants to join the slumber party.
But after last night, I've had enough. I had just started to doze off when I felt some paws on my pillow... then I felt Gordon plop himself down... On. My. Pillow. I sat up, turned on the light and snapped this photo (my phone is also my alarm clock and my camera):
You can see how he walked around my head to get up on the pillow. I kindly removed him and feel asleep... only to find him in that same spot the next morning! (I guess I slept hard.)
I'm going to try and put a pillow at the foot of the bed and see if he gets the hint. If that doesn't work, he'll have his own private little bed with a little pillow and a little blanket... in his kennel!

Early Mornings
Chris is an early riser by nature. Even on Saturday he's wide awake at 7am. I stumble and grumble out of bed much later.
Our work week routine starts a little earlier, but Chris is always up and gone before I'm fully out of bed. Once I pry myself from the pillow I usually take a shower, make the bed, eat breakfast, etc. Gordon likes to stay in bed until I pick him up and force him outside. There's some grumbling with that too. When I get out of the shower I usually see him nestled in the covers, one ear flips up to let me know he sees me, but he's snoozing. This makes me insanely jealous.
The other day things got mixed up and for some reason I made the bed (and forced Gordon out of it) before my shower. When I got out, I couldn't find him! Until I put on my glasses and looked a little closer:
Notice the one flipped up ear. Ah! What a life!
